AMU students and faculty members take the ‘Panch Pran’ pledge

Aligarh: The faculty members, students and staff at the Aligarh Muslim University resolved to make India a developed country by the year 2047 when the country will be celebrating the centenary of its independence from the tyrannical British rule.

Taking five resolves under the nationwide ‘Panch Pran’ campaign announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they made a resolve to make India a developed country by the year 2047, remove the colonial mindset, take pride in our roots, strengthen the national unity and develop a sense of duty in citizens.

At the College of Nursing, the Principal, Prof Farha Azmi led the nursing students in taking a pledge, while at the Department of Economics, the Chairman of the department, Prof Shehroz Alam Rizvi administered the ‘Panch Pran’ pledge to the faculty members, student and staff. He said the five resolves will work as an impetus for the people to give their best to the country and make India a developed nation.

The Chairman of the Department of Linguistics, Prof MJ Warsi conducted the pledge to the faculty members, students and staff, while at the Department of Library and Information Science, the Chairman, Prof M Masoom Raza led the pledge-taking ceremony with five resolutions to achieve the target of overall growth, diversity and unity by shedding the colonial mindset.

The faculty members, students and staff gathered at the Paramedical College to take the pledge under the Panch Pran campaign, while at the Department of Petroleum Studies, the event reflected a unified commitment of the faculty members, students and staff to the ideals of the Panch Pran. Dr Moina Athar coordinated the pledge-taking event, with Dr Rameez Ahmad Aftab as the co-coordinator. The Chairman of the department, Dr Najam Sardar urged all to work for the realization of the five resolves.

Prof Qumarul Hooda Faridi, Director, Centre for the Professional Development of Urdu Teachers administered the pledge and urged the participants to uphold the constitutional values and make India the number one country in the world by 2047.
