Aligarh: In a move to boost digital capabilities in higher education, the UGC Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at Aligarh Muslim University unveiled a state-of-the-art Digital Education Studio.
The new facility was inaugurated by AMU Vice Chancellor Prof Naima Khatoon, showcasing the university's commitment to digital education in line with the National Education Policy.
In her inaugural address, Prof Khatoon highlighted the critical role of digital leadership in higher education, emphasizing that integrating teaching, learning, and research into a digital framework is essential for advancement. She noted that the Digital Education Studio will be a valuable asset for AMU's academic community, enabling more modern and effective digital learning strategies.
The event also marked the Valedictory Ceremony of a one-week residential course on presentation skills, attended by 70 faculty members and research scholars from diverse Higher Education Institutions across the country. The course aimed to refine professional communication and presentation techniques, equipping participants with essential skills for the academic landscape. Participants expressed positive feedback, reflecting the success of the program in enriching their pedagogical abilities.
Prof Khatoon emphasized the need for more face-to-face courses to foster a deeper understanding of knowledge and enhance academic interactions. She distributed certificates to participants who completed the course, recognizing their commitment to professional development.
Dr Faiza Abbasi, Director of UGC MMTTC, highlighted the alignment of the Centre's activities with the five pillars of the NEP 2020—access, equity, quality, accountability, and affordability. Dr Abbasi emphasized that the Presentation Skills course was designed to be interactive and engaging, moving beyond traditional teaching methods to actively involve participants.
Prof Parvaiz Talib, Course Coordinator from the Department of Business Administration, shared that the course attracted participants from institutions in Nainital, Uttarakhand, Mau, Uttar Pradesh, and Banasthali, Rajasthan. Participants delivered group presentations evaluated by expert resource persons, fostering a spirit of teamwork and collaboration. Prof Talib noted that the course not only improved technical presentation skills but also facilitated dynamic discussions among participants.
Prizes for outstanding contributions were awarded to Dr Dinesh Kumar Upadhyaya, Gaurav Yadav, and Sareen for their active participation. Dr Khurram Nisar extended a vote of thanks, and the event was conducted by Samreen Ahmad.
