Growth Strategies in Higher Education at AMU highlighted

Aligarh: “For higher education institutions to thrive, they must embrace innovation, foster international collaborations, and implement sustainable models for growth,” said Prof Edward Buckingham, Director of Engagements, Monash Business School at Monash University in Australia, while delivering a lecture at the ZH College of Engineering and Technology at Aligarh Muslim University.

Speaking on ‘Growth and Performance in Higher Education: Some Frameworks for Staff and Students’, Prof Buckingham, a key figure in establishing Monash University campuses internationally, discussed strategic approaches for advancing higher education. As a professor in business education, he outlined models for sustaining academic institutions and the necessary measures for achieving higher global rankings. His visit also explored potential collaborations between Monash University and AMU for student exchange programs.

In his presidential address, Prof Zafar Mahfooz Nomani, the Officiating Vice Chancellor, underscored the significance of accreditation, international partnerships, and resource generation in strengthening higher education. Prof Nesar Ahmad, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, highlighted the crucial role of institutional rankings in academic excellence.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Prof Mohd Muzammil, Principal of ZH College of Engineering and Technology. Prof Izharul Haq Farooqi, Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering and Coordinator of the lecture meeting, then gave a vote of thanks. A dynamic Q&A session followed, allowing participants to engage with Prof Buckingham on key higher education challenges and opportunities.
