Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University schools took proactive steps to address exam stress among their +2 students by conducting counselling sessions.
Recognising the importance of supporting students' mental well-being, the sessions targeted boys and girls to equip them with effective stress management strategies.
With exams like National Eligibility cum Entrance Test i.e. NEET, scheduled for May 5, AMU schools ensure students are not only academically prepared but also emotionally resilient.
Prof Naima Khatoon, Vice Chancellor, stressed the significance of prioritising students' psychological health for their holistic development.
"These counselling sessions underscore our commitment to nurturing the overall well-being of our students. By providing coping mechanisms to handle exam stress, we empower them to confidently pursue their academic and professional goals," stated Prof Naima.
The counselling sessions were held at AMU's 10+2 Senior Secondary School for Girls Abdullah Hall and 10+2 Saiyyad Hamid Boys Senior Secondary School. Dr Asif Hassan and Nimra Almas, the counsellors and resource persons, extensively discussed stress management techniques before, during, and after competitive exams, focusing on NEET.
AMU's Dean of Students Welfare, Prof Rafiuddin, along with Prof Vibha Sharma, Principal of 10+2 Senior Secondary School for Girls, Naghma Irfan, Provost Abdullah Hall, Dr Ghazala Naheed, and Principal of 10+2 Sr Secondary School, Dr Shakeel A Alvi, shared insights on mental toughness and stress management during the counselling session.
