Students and alumni receive Sir Syed Global Scholar Award

Aligarh: Twenty-eight students and alumni of Aligarh Muslim University have been selected for the Sir Syed Global Scholar Award for the academic session 2024-25. This prestigious honour is bestowed by the US-based non-profit organization, Sir Syed Education Society of North America.

Dr Sajad Sheikh and Sachin Gupta, past beneficiaries and current co-chairs of the SSGSA programme, informed that these students were chosen through an exhaustive selection process. This process evaluated academic performance, research or work experience, internships, and curricular and extracurricular activities, assessed by 13 panels.

Dr Sheikh and  Gupta expressed their gratitude to the university administration for their cooperation and support in carrying out the selection process.

The recipients of the SSGSA scholarship will receive financial support and personalized mentorship throughout the application process for higher education abroad.

Additionally, they will receive assistance with required standardized tests such as GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS, as well as the application fees for up to five universities of their choice.
