Aligarh: A ‘Traffic Awareness Programme’ was organized at Dr. BR Ambedkar Hall of Aligarh Muslim University. The program aimed at creating awareness among the students of traffic rules and regulations.
SP (Traffic), Aligarh, Mukesh Chandra Gautam, who was Chief Guest, highlighted the issues pertaining to accidents and legal cases arising out of them. He urged the students to make people aware of the Motor Vehicles Act and regulations.
Guest of honor, Fariduddin, RTO, presented data relating to road accidents and highlighted the safety tips which are generally neglected while commuting on roads. He stressed the use of ISI-marked helmets and fastening seat belts besides following safe pedestrian norms.
Vinay Sagar Shukla, TI, urged people to pay attention and follow traffic signals, signs, and road safety rules to remain safe and avoid penalties.
Prof. Hashmat Ali Khan, Provost, Dr. BR Ambedkar Hall, presided over the programme.
Kaif Hasan, Adil Jawahar, President of Project Umeed Welfare Foundation, and Advocate Nadeem Anjum, Vice-President of PUWF, urged the students to spread awareness regarding road safety measures and traffic regulations.
