Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University has been conferred the ‘Best University Award’ at the National Geospatial Awards 2024, organised by IIT Bombay’s FOSSEE GIS project under the National Mission on Education through ICT, Central Ministry of Education.

The award was presented to the Vice Chancellor Prof Naima Khatoon, by Mohd Kasim Khan, Senior Research Scientist, at the VC office, AMU.

Khan informed that AMU was chosen for this award in recognition of its significant contributions towards implementing the National Geospatial Policy 2022 and the Indian Space Policy 2023.

The event also saw the presence of TPO ZHCET Farhan Saeed and Prof Fareed Mahdi, in charge of TPO ZHCET, who were lauded for their efforts in promoting collaboration and student internships.

During the ceremony, Prof Khatoon expressed her gratitude for the award and commended the dedication of AMU’s faculty and students.
