Aligarh: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Aligarh Muslim University organized a webinar on “Startups, Incubators, and Entrepreneurship: Translational Research from Lab to Market”, which had an overwhelming response with around 800 registered participants.

Prof Mohammad Gulrez, Vice-chancellor of AMU appreciated such types of programmes to sensitize students and faculty members about a very relevant topic.

Professor Asad U Khan, Director of IQAC welcomed the speakers and participants and delineated the importance of startups and entrepreneurship.

Describing his own story of startup and funding through the BIG-BIRAC grant which he initiated at IIT Kanpur, Prof Khan said startups generate employment and encourage innovation in the country.

The key speaker, Dr Saurabh Saran, Principal Investigator of Technology Business Incubator, IIIM, Jammu highlighted the concept of startups and its fundamental principles.

Offering his services for AMU students to train them in Startups and business ventures, he said: Roadshow competitions as awareness drives may be organized at AMU and free incubators may be offered to the winners.

Dr. Ankush Verma, Coordinator of Technology Business Incubator spoke on incubators’ establishment at IIIM, Jammu, and the progress of other startups.

He discussed several success stories, the progress of incubates, and translating the incubating ideas at the market level. He also took the question-answer session.

Prof Anwar Shahzad proposed a vote of thanks and Areeba Dilshad conducted the proceedings.
