Law students tour police stations to know the functioning

Aligarh: A group of about 200 students from the Faculty of Law at Aligarh Muslim University embarked on a clinical legal education trip to the local general and Mahila police stations to get acquainted with the functioning of the police stations.

They visited the legal and para-legal enforcement and inspectorate and court of law under the training and placement, internship programme, and legal aid services, under the supervision of Prof Hashmat Ali Khan, Incharge, Law Society.

Prof MZM Nomani, Dean, Faculty of Law flagged off the two buses carrying the students. He said ‘it is an innovative move of the faculty’ and the students will visit police stations to acquire first-hand experience of FIR, Investigation Dairy, Roznamcha entry, lunar calendar workings, lock up assessment, Final Report, and police-public dealings.

He thanked the district administration, police department, and Central Automobile Workshop, AMU for facilitating logistics and support.

Akhil Kaushal, Secretary of Training and Placement Society, along with Dr. Absar Kidwai, Advocate-Teacher, Zaki Khairoowala, and Salil Kumar escorted the students selected from across all semesters.
