Potential benefits of solar photovoltaic technology explored

Aligarh: Prof. Mohammad Rihan from the Electrical Engineering Department, ZHCET at Aligarh Muslim University and the Founder Director and Coordinator of the Centre for Integrated Green and Renewable Energy recently addressed an International Training Program on Sustainable Agriculture at IIT Kanpur.

The program, sponsored by the African Asian Rural Development Organisation and organized by IIT Kanpur, gathered representatives from 10 different countries in Asia and Africa.

Prof. Rihan's talk, titled "Agrivoltaic Systems: Combining Solar PV and Agriculture," emphasized the potential benefits of integrating solar photovoltaic (PV) technology into agriculture.

He discussed global trends, highlighted pilot projects in the country, and shared experiential insights from AMU's solar setup. The lecture aimed to promote understanding and collaboration in advancing sustainable practices at the intersection of agriculture and renewable energy.
