Recent Advancements in Materials, Design, and Manufacturing discussed


Aligarh: The Mechanical Engineering Section of University Polytechnic at Aligarh Muslim University organized the 2nd International Conference on “Recent Advancements in Materials, Design, and Manufacturing”, with Prof DP Agrawal, Former Chairman, UPSC as the chief guest and Prof Pradeep Kumar Jha from IIT Roorkee and Prof Sukhdeep Singh Dhami from NITTTR of Chandigarh as the guests of honor.

In his remarks, Prof. Agrawal emphasized that research and innovation are crucial for any educational institution's success and it is important how AMU promotes such events. He urged the participants to explore the green and clean campus prospects for the university.

Later, addressing the plenary session, Prof. Agrawal discussed the contemporary issues and technological advancements and said that the concept of Industry 5.0, often associated with the next phase of industrial evolution, showcases the commitment of AMU to staying at the forefront of discussions on the future of industry and technology.

In his keynote addresses, Prof Pradeep Kumar Jha and Prof SS Dhami highlighted the significance of Hybrid Metal Matrix Composite materials and provided valuable insight into the advancement and potential applications of these composites. Prof. Dhami especially focused on the virtual reality of manufacturing.

Prof M Altamush Siddiqui, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, emphasized the significance of the conference theme.

Earlier, welcoming the guests and participants, Prof Arshad Umar, Principal, University Polytechnic, gave an overview of the conference, adding that 70 papers from India and abroad were accepted and published in the conference book of abstract and were presented during the technical sessions held in hybrid mode.

Dr. Mohd. Asif Hasan, Incharge of the Mechanical Engineering Section extended a vote of thanks. Dr. Md. Israr Equbal, Dr. Syed Imran Shafiq, Dr. Wasifullah Khan and Dr. Mohd Yunus Khan were the coordinators, while Co-coordinators included Dr. Ahmad Saood, Mr. Abdul Faheem, Dr. Mirza Shariq Beg, Dr. Mohammad Athar Khan and Shaukat Rafi.
