Aligarh: Dr. Ushoshi Guha, a retired IAS, and educationist, called upon women to acquire education, economic self-reliance, and entrepreneurship to achieve the larger goal of empowerment and emancipation. She was delivering a lecture to mark International Women's Day, organized by the Department of Education, Aligarh Muslim University.

She said women need to equip themselves with the technological advances of the time as it is essential to make accomplishments in life. She also stressed the importance of peaceful living for women for a prosperous society.

Prof Mujibul Hasan Siddiqui, Chairman of the department, welcomed the guests while Prof Nasrin extended a vote of thanks.

Saffanah Ayesha, the Secretary of the Education Society, conducted the programme.
