Aligarh: The Department of Psychology at Aligarh Muslim University organized an extension lecture on ‘Writing Research Papers’, by Prof Habib Ahmad, a retired faculty from Zakir Husain College at the University of Delhi.
Prof Habib highlighted the common mistakes in research presentations and the importance of learning from such mistakes. He discussed the key elements of effective paper writing, including structuring, conducting comprehensive literature reviews and adhering to a clear and engaging writing style.
He underscored the importance of objectivity, and proper citation to avoid plagiarism, and introduced the four key points in paper publishing: author, editor, reviewer, and publisher.
Earlier, Prof Shah Alam, Chairman, the Department of Psychology welcomed the guest speaker and introduced him to the students. He recounted his contributions as a former captain and standout horse rider of the AMU Riding Club.
The participants and paper presenters from the World Mental Health Day Seminar were given certificates by the guest speaker.
Filzah Kakul conducted the programme while Ilma Fatima extended a vote of thanks.
