Aligarh: The Faculty of Theology at Aligarh Muslim University organised a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the winners of the speech and essay writing competitions held to commemorate Sir Syed Day.
Presiding over the programme, Prof Mohd Gulrez highlighted Sir Syed’s educational, reformative, scientific, and literary achievements. He exhorted the students to refine their oratory and writing skills.
The chief guest Prof Veena Maheshwari, Principal of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College applauded the organisers and participants, underscoring the competition’s role in fostering academic excellence and personality growth.
Prof Towqueer Alam Falahi, Dean of the Faculty of Theology extended a warm welcome to the guests and acknowledged the university administration’s support in organising academic and extra-curricular events.
63 students participated in the speech, while 65 students took part in the essay writing competition.
Dr Muhammad Sohail Qasmi presented a report on the event. Dr Hadi Riza proposed a vote of thanks, while Dr Raihan Akhtar Qasmi conducted the prize distribution ceremony.
