As of October, there are 1290 functional Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country. The government has approved the opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas within the next nine years with a budget outlay of Rs. 5862.55 crore approx. There are 662 Navodaya Vidyalayas operational across the country as of October. For 2024-25, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti schools were allocated Rs. 5370.79 crore as Grant-in-Aid.
