Aligarh: Students of the Women’s College and AMU Girls’ School, along with the girl residents of the Abdullah Hall, enthusiastically participated in various sports events organized by the Women’s College to observe Fit India Week 2024.
In the tug-of-war and Table Tennis competitions, the Women’s College teams emerged as the winners, while the Senior Secondary School (Girls) teams were declared as the runner-ups.
In the 100-meter race, Sadiya Fatima from AMU Girls’ School GHS stood first, while Amanaiya Kazmi from Women's College and Rida Fatima from Girls’ School secured second and third positions, respectively.
In the long-distance race, Sneha from Women's College stood first, Babli from Senior Secondary School Girls, second, and Adiba Nurain from Girls School held the third position.
A total of 34 participants in the 100-meter race and 20 participants in the long-distance race participated.
The Principal of Women's College, Prof. Naima Khatoon, and Provost of IG Hall, Prof. Shaukat Haseen congratulated the winner and runner-up teams and appreciated the zeal shown by all participating teams.
Dr Nazia Khan, Incharge of the Physical Education Section said that the teams of Women's College, Senior Secondary Schools (Girls), AMU Girls School, Abdullah Hall, IG Hall, and Women's College NCC 3UP Battalion participated in the events.
Earlier, a friendly competition was held between Women's College teachers and the NCC cadets, as an opening event.
